  3. 1/2 cup Onions chopped
  4. 1/4 cup Tomatoes chopped

  7. 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  8. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  9. 1 tsp Chilli powder
  10. 1/4 tsp hing/ asafoetida
  11. 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  12. 2 cups Wheat flour
  13. 1/2 cup Besan/ gram flour
  14. 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
  15. 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  16. to taste Salt
  17. 1 tsp corinader seeds
  18. 1 tsp fennel seeds

Instructions to make to make Sarson ke saag Ka Thepla

  1. First, wash the leaves well in salted water and drain well. Chop them fine.
  2. Heat an iron wok or kadhai and add 1 tablespoon oil. Then add all the seeds. Then after they crackel, add hing and stir well. Then add onions and fry well.
  3. When onions are softned, add green chillies and tomatoes. Cook them well. Then add all the spices and mix well.
  4. Then add chopped greens and cook on high heat, stirring continuously for 2 minutes. Then turn off heat. Add salt, lemon juice, Besan and mix well. Kee covered for 10 minutes.
  5. Then make a fine paste of the mixture in blender. Then add to the wheat flour. Adjust the spices and salt. Make a dough with water and keep covered for 10 minutes.
  6. Then divide into lemon sized balls and side by side, heat a tawa. Then roll into thin Theplas. Then roast them on tawa on both side till brown spots appear. Spread oil and again roast till crisp. Repeat this process for all the Theplas and keep covered in a roti cloth in hot case till serving.
  7. Serve yummylicious sarson ke saag Ka Theplas with pickle, chutney or ketchup. Enjoy!
