- 1 tbsp Ginger paste
- 1 tbsp Garlic paste
- 450 gms Onion Half Chopped half made into paste
- 1/2 cup Mustard oil
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Kashmiri Lal mirch powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Homemade Garam masala powder (as listed above)
- as needed Hot water
- For Garnishing
- 2 tsp Green Coriander leaves
Steps to make to make Mutton curry
- Marinate the Mutton and keep it overnight preferably if not at least for few hours as per the time you have. Prepare all ingredients. Heat oil in a kadai and add chopped onion first...saute for 5 minutes or so.
- Then add onion paste and saute it for 10 mins or so then add the marinated Mutton and bhunno it for 5 minutes or so and add the masalas and bhunno it more about 10 minutes. Then add hot water as required to cook the mutton...you can check and add in between.
- Cover and cook. It almost took me 1:50 hrs to cook the Mutton (the cooking time of mutton varies from place to place depending on the quality of mutton). Almost at the end, add the freshly grounded garam masala powder and cook till the oil seperates from the gravy. Your mutton curry is ready. Put it in a serving bowl and garnish with green coriander and serve it with Roti, Naan, Rumali roti, Rice, Pulav, Luchi/ Puri etc. Bon Appetit!
