  4. 5 kokum soaked for 15 min then drained

  6. 1/2 cup chopped jaggery
  7. 1/2 tsp ginger green chilli paste
  8. 1 tsp chilli powder
  9. 3 tsp cashews
  10. 4-5 Curry leaves
  11. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  12. 2 tsp ghee
  13. 1 tsp oil
  14. 1/4 cumin seeds
  15. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  16. 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  17. 1 cinnamon stick
  18. 2 cloves
  19. For Stuffing
  20. 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  21. 1 tsp finely chopped coriander
  22. 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  23. 1 pinch turmeric powder
  24. 1/4 tsp coriandar cumin powder
  25. 1/4 tsp dried mango powder
  26. to taste Salt
  27. For Dough
  28. 1/2 cup wheat flour
  29. 3/4 cup Bangal gram flour
  30. to taste Salt
  31. 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  32. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  33. 1 pinch carom seeds
  34. 1/2 tsp oil
  35. as needed Wheat flour for rolling
  36. Serving
  37. 3 tsp Finely chopped green coriander leaves
  38. as needed Ghee

Steps to make to make Bharwa Dal Dhokli

  1. For the Daal:
    Clean wash and drain the daal
  2. Combine the dal and 2 cups of hot water in a pressure cooker and pressure cooker for 3 whistle
  3. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid
  4. Combine the cooked dal and 1 cup of hot water in a deep non-stick pan and blend it well using hand blender till smooth.
  5. Add 2and 1/2 cups of hot water and mix very well.
  6. Place the deep non-stick pan on the flame add salt,kokum,lemon juice, jaggery, ginger green chilli paste,chilli powder, cashew, curry leaves, turmeric powder mix well and cook on medium flame for 5 to 7 min, while stirring occasionally.
  7. Meanwhile for the tempering,heat the ghee and oil in a small pan add cumin seeds mustard seeds and allow them to crackle.
  8. When the seeds crackle add the asafoetida, cinnamon, cloves and saute on a medium flame for 30 sec.
  9. Add this tempering to the dal,mix well and cook on medium flame for 2 min, while stirring occasionally. Keep aside.
  10. For Stuffed Dhokli: Combine the potatoes, coriander, cumin seeds powder, chilli powder, dried mango powder and salt in a Bowl and mix well.
  11. Divide the mixture into small rounds and keep aside.
  12. Combine the wheat flour, besan, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, and oil in a deep bowl and knead into semi stiff dough using enough water.
  13. Cover the with a lid and keep aside for 15 min.
  14. Divide the dough into equal portion.
  15. Roll the dough into circle using wheat flour.
  16. Put a portion of potatoes stuffing in the center and bring all the sides together towards the center to seal it and press it slightly.
  17. How to Proceed: Just before serving, boil the daal, once it starts boiling, add the Stuffed Dhokli and coriander, mix gently and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  18. Serve with Ghee in a bowl and Enjoy.
